BOOTCAMP 1
|
What did you learn as a result of completing this bootcamp? I learned how to properly make a pinch pot and how to slip them together.
What skills/ strategies did you know before? What was new?I knew how to use the slip but not how to make it, I always thought it was just wet clay. What are the strong components and attributes of your work? now I know how to make pinch pots look similar but not exact. I asked questions if I had them. What did you expect? How could you have done better? I expected to just get the pinch pots done the first time but I had to do them over. I could of slowed down and take my time on the pots. What do you conclude about using the ______ process/ technique? Why? You need practice in order to get them all look alike or you'll have one bigger than the other. How will you use these skills/ strategies in the future? When we start making our own pots and mugs i'll use my knowledge of pinch pots to make a base or lid. |
Bootcamp 2
What did you learn as a result of completing this bootcamp?
This bootcamp helped me learn how to properly set up a coil pot and how to make good coils. What skills/ strategies did you know before? What was new? I knew how to use something like the extruder but not as big. Know how to make fancy coils and blending the coils together was new for me. What are the strong components and attributes of your work? I try to make it look clean as possible and try to make adequate pieces. What did you expect? How could you have done better? I didn't expect to make the pt on my first try but I made it right afterwards. I could have managed my time better and added pictures but I forgot my phone that has the pictures on it What do you conclude about using the ______ process/ technique? Why? After using the coil process I think I like this process the best because I had to do more in this process than the others. How will you use these skills/ strategies in the future? I was going to make one of my first pieces out of the coil technique. |
Bootcamp 3 |
What did you learn as a result of completing this bootcamp?
I learned how to make a proper slab. What skills/ strategies did you know before? What was new? I knew how to role a slab but not that well. Using the 45 degree tool was new to me on how to make a cube. What are the strong components and attributes of your work? My cube is not the best but I polished it the best I could. What did you expect? How could you have done better? I expected to make a decent looking cube, I could hav ecut the edges more even. What do you conclude about using the ______ process/ technique? Why? This process is kind of the more challenging out of the ones that we have done so far. This was just more challenging for me to do. How will you use these skills/ strategies in the future? I will most likely use the square technique in the future as a piece for me to practice more on. |
Bootcamp 4 |
What did you learn as a result of completing this bootcamp?
I learned how to properly make little practice slabs. What skills/ strategies did you know before? What was new? I knew how to do the impressions into the slabs, but I didn't know how to use the under glaze on my cube. What are the strong components and attributes of your work? My work is done well after I have some practice with what I am working with. What did you expect? How could you have done better? I expected to do the slabs in one go but I made them too small the first time so I had to try again. What do you conclude about using the ______ process/ technique? Why? Using the wax and under glaze to color the cube was kind of hard until you had an idea of what you had to do. How will you use these skills/ strategies in the future? I will have to use the wax resist and the different types of glazes in the future. |
bootcamp 5
What did you learn as a result of completing this bootcamp?
I learned how to use and layer the different types of glaze. What skills/ strategies did you know before? What was new? Before I knew the basics like to put 3 layers but I didn't know the different types of glaze and who long they will be fired. What are the strong components and attributes of your work? I evenly applied the glaze on the slabs, coil pot, pinch pot. What did you expect? How could you have done better? I expected that one of them would not be done right but they are all done well. I could of chose brighter colors so that I could see the detail underneath more. What do you conclude about using the ______ process/ technique? Why? Overall the glaze process is easy enough once you have done it a couple times. This is properly my favorite part of making a piece of work because coloring the piece gives it life and meaning. How will you use these skills/ strategies in the future? I will have to glaze the rest of my pieces that I end up making in this class. |
